Our Story
Dad Words began while my son was falling asleep in my arms. One day I realized I wanted to say more to my son than, "I love you." I knew he heard those words, but I wanted him to understand why he was loved and to hear the kinds of things that build confidence, security, and connection over a lifetime. So I started saying things like, "Did you know that the day you were born, your mom and I were really happy?" Those moments became some of my favorites. But like many parents, I didn't always think of the right words in the moment. I found myself wishing someone would simply text me one thoughtful idea around dinnertime.
Then I wondered...What if other dads wished for the same thing?
We started Dad Words because we wanted to be more intentional with our own children. Sometimes the hardest part of parenting isn't caring, it's remembering, in the middle of a busy day, to say the words that matter most. Dad Words exists to provide simple, thoughtful prompts that help parents invest in one relationship, one conversation, and one day at a time. We believe words matter, and that small moments of encouragement, repeated over time, can shape a child's life.
Our Mission: We help parents intentionally invest in their relationships with their children through thoughtful words, one small moment at a time.
Our Vision: We envision a world where encouragement is a daily habit in families, and where every child grows up hearing words that help them feel deeply known, loved, and believed in.
Our Belief: We believe encouraging words strengthen families. When children consistently hear words that remind them they are loved, capable, and valued, those words become part of the way they understand themselves.
